The starting salary for this position is £40,227 per annum for 36 hours per week, based in Woking Borough Council Offices, Civic Offices, Gloucester Square, Woking, GU21 6YL.

This is a permanent, full-time vacancy.

Working within the Adult Social Care Directorate at Surrey County Council you will be leading and managing a team of twelve finance staff to support the management and administration of a large budget across four Locality Team’s and two hospitals which make up the Northwest Surrey and Surrey Heath area. You will be supporting adult social care practitioners within the Locality and Hospital Team’s in budget management, ensuring financial policies and procedures are followed.

You will lead on financial data and reporting to ensure timely and accurate information is available to the Area Director in having oversight of the care and staffing budgets.

You will be part of a high performing team, be provided with training and development opportunities and receive very regularly supervision via the Area Director /Line Manager and the County Council’s Corporate financial team.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • Previous management experience including staff supervision, development, and organisational skills. Degree or equivalent experience, or relevant financial or business qualification i.e. AAT qualified.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computerised business systems in terms of functionality and capability (some roles).
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, policies, and procedures relating to business planning and financial and organisational management.
  • Proven written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with good negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners/professionals.
