About the School - SEN Teacher
Starting at the earliest opportunity this large specialist SEN school that focuses on children who have severe Autism and learning difficulties is looking to appoint a new teacher to take on a small class. The students in the class have complex needs which includes challenging behaviour so this post will only be suitable to experienced teachers who have previously taught in an SEN setting. Located in Hemel Hempstead, the school has been providing an outstanding level of care, support and education to its 150 students for the past 20 years. Set in a large building and grounds, designed for students with special needs this school has consistently been Ofsted graded at the highest level. The school is totally inclusive and offers every student all the help they need to achieve their very best. The school has built a relationship of trust with the parents of its students who are fully involved in school life at every opportunity.
About the Role - SEN Teacher
This is a great school to work at, but it takes a certain person to thrive in what can be difficult conditions. Challenging behaviour is commonplace and a calm, understanding teacher who can assert themselves will be required. There is plenty of support including several LSA's in each class plus an excellent leadership team, but SEN teaching must be the successful applicant's passion. A great understanding and high level of experience of working with SEN pupils is necessary!
