Description

Applicants should hold the Practice Assessor/Educator award (SWM09), PQ6 or the Practice Teaching Award. The main tasks of the post are as follows :-

1. Acting as offsite practice educator to degree and masters hosted and seconded students.

2. Acting as mentor to social workers who are undertaking the practice educator award (SWM09). This includes observing supervision sessions as per programme requirements, running workshops and offering support and consultation.

3. Facilitating workshops for students, practice educators and onsite facilitators.

4. Liaising with and supporting voluntary, private and third sector agencies who provide practice learning opportunities (plo’s).

5. Liaising with and supporting practice educators and team managers in relation to student plo’s and assisting if difficulties arise.

6. Working collaboratively with HEI’s, attending programme management committees, partners’ meetings and practice assessment panels when requested by the Practice Learning Coordinator.

7. Co-delivering workshops with colleagues within the Practice Learning team and marking portfolios for the graduate certificate. Attending required training for teaching workshops and marking portfolios as recommended by Porth Agored and maintaining CPD and currency of knowledge.

8. Attending moderation meetings and management meetings in conjunction with the Practice Learning Coordinator.

9. Supporting staff acting as mentors for the graduate certificate and providing consultation to learners undertaking the programme.
