THE COMPANY

Our client is an independently owned award-winning post-production company based in the heart of London.

THE ROLE

As Head Engineer, you will lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers that are responsible for technology across the business units and sites.

Key responsibilities:

• Apply industry best practices, company policy and critical security and maintenance practices are followed at all times
• Promote career development across a range of technical disciplines and productive working relationships with team members in the engineering and operations team and the wider company departments they support
• Proactively manage all maintenance and technical support of all equipment and infrastructure within the facility, prioritising minimal downtime and with minimal impact on clients
• Work closely with the other HOD’s and Engineering team to cost, plan, and project manage the rollout or overhaul of services and systems within technical departments
• Work with the Managing Director to set appropriate budgets for both departmental and companywide projects, ensuring all known operational and engineering expenditure is accounted for
• Work with suppliers and service partners on obtaining quotes and plan/receive orders
• Work with vendors and service partners to make sure that all support and service contracts are up to date
• Lead a compliance team to ensure the highest standards of security whilst meeting any existing agreements with trade bodies, studios or project-specific agreements
• Oversee all corporate disaster recovery and business continuity practices in line with the company DR policies
• Keep up to date with market trends and the leading technical advancements by working with vendors, trade shows and publications to keep up to date and drive forward technological advancement to benefit clients and staff
• Work closely with the Facilities Manager to make sure suites and technical areas are maintained to the required standards
• 3rd line support for Offline, Online, Grade and Audio suites.

THE PERSON

You will be an experienced Engineer with team management skills, ideally coming from a post-production background.

You will have extensive experience with hardware, software and disciplines used within the production and post-production industries including Avid Media Composer & Pro Tools, Autodesk Flame, Baselight, and Media storage platforms such as Nexis and Pixit.
