The Area Manager is a key member of the Operational Management Team and will enable Thames Reach to achieve the highest standards and effectiveness in service delivery to people who are rough sleeping and other vulnerable people needing support. The role offers a high degree of autonomy and diverse day-to-day activities.

This post will oversee our 24 hour hostel accommodation services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the objectives of Thames Reach through skilled leadership of high quality, effective services within complex and fluid operating environment, negotiating and influencing local authorities and other commissioners.
  • Monitoring and improving outcomes, to ensure the continuous improvement of service effectiveness and implementation of best practice.
  • Working to secure new business for the organisation, through both competitive tendering and co-production of new services with a range of commissioners.

To succeed as the Area Manager, you will have:

  • A strong record and good understanding of the issues involved in managing support services to a range of vulnerable people
  • Ability to manage and lead staff working at different locations
  • Ability to manage change processes, ensuring services still deliver a strategically relevant service
  • Experience of developing, managing, and sustaining relationships with a wide range of organisations and individuals, such as, commissioners and other managers, statutory and non-statutory agencies.
