YMCA DLG stands together with children and young people who are at risk; keeping them safe, supporting their emotional wellbeing, and enabling them to belong, contribute and thrive in their local community.
We work to prevent youth homelessness across Sussex and Surrey and provide a home to 763 young people every night. We reach a further 10,000 young people and their families through our other key services, such as counselling, support and advice, mediation, and youth work, so that all young people can belong, contribute and thrive. The Role
We are looking for two sessional Youth Workers to join our experienced and enthusiastic team in Eastbourne. You will deliver high-quality youth work services and will work alongside other youth workers at three of our youth nights for 11-21 year-olds in Eastbourne. This role includes regular sessions at Youth Clubs and LGBTQ+ Support Groups. You will support the planning and delivery of enjoyable and engaging session, ensuring that the service is delivered to a high standard in accordance with YMCADLG policies and procedures. In addition, you will facilitate targeted intervention sessions with young people, for example around sexual health, drugs and alcohol and anti-social behaviour.
This role has a flexible range of shifts. The current available hours are Monday 6.00pm-8.00pm; however there may be other hours which become available.
Who You Are
We are recruiting sessional Youth Workers who have a passion for sport, activities and providing a safe environment for young people to take part. The successful applicant will be able to communicate effectively with young people and provide effective support as necessary. You will also be able to build a positive relationship with young people.
