Learner and Discovery Services (LDS) is an award-winning unit of The Open University responsible for the production and delivery of the University’s curriculum; it also has a central role in the design of learning materials.

The role

We’re recruiting a Video Producer to be part of our growing in-house Video & Audio (V&A) team. You will support Video Senior Producers to design, create and commission a vast spectrum of engaging materials including micro-documentaries, dramas, animations, podcasts, archive and live studio content.

Skills and experience

You will work with external suppliers and freelancers as part of an inhouse media production and academic team. You will fully understand the production process and contribute new ideas and ways of working in a rapidly-changing educational landscape.

You will be a responsible team player and already possess:

• Experience of producing video and audio content
• Strong editorial skills
• Ability to transform complex ideas into engaging content
• Skills in planning and managing budgets using Excel and other tools
• Consistent accuracy in your work and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Hands on filming/recording and editing skills
• Strong communication skills and initiative
• Experience of using archive materials
