An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Manager to be part of a sector-leading communications team to earn media coverage and maximise the profile of the University of Glasgow’s world-changing teaching, learning and research. Reporting to the Head of Communications you will actively contribute to the development and delivery of our communications strategy aligned with the University’s strategic plan, maximising reach and impact in communicating and engaging multiple audiences through timely communications on audience relevant platforms. You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic communications guidance and support, working in collaboration with a specific College and/or University Service to shape policy and its presentation.

You will be accountable for the effective leadership, coordination, and delivery of UofG-led, multi-partner, and multi-institution research-related projects and research trials. Leading on matters of reputational management, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders you will deliver specific strategic communications objectives in accordance with institutional, college and service plans.

The University is a large complex organisation that strives to improve and influence the world around us, therefore, you will build effective relationships with key stakeholders and associated networks both within and out of the University - including students, staff and the wider public to preserve, promote and enhance our reputation and brand attributes conducive and consistent with our strategic priorities.

You will have extensive and relevant experience as a senior communications professional and the ability to understand, interpret and summarise complex issues and research across a broad range of disciplines. You will possess demonstrable experience of developing, producing, sharing, and embedding high quality written, visual, and audio-visual materials for mainstream, online and social media audiences.

You will have the gravitas to influence and negotiate with senior management as well as the initiative, creativity, enthusiasm and strong organisational skills work efficiently on numerous projects simultaneously.
