English Teacher – SEN – KS3-4 | Brilliant SEN School | Teddington, Richmond upon Thames

A wonderful ‘all through’ SEN School in Teddington, Richmond upon Thames is looking to recruit an English Teacher for a September start 2022, on a permanent school contract basis.

The Head Teacher is searching for a creative and experienced Teacher of English - SEN, who is has good knowledge of SEN and is therefore confident within a SEN classroom, and able to hit the ground running from day one.

The school’s students’ main needs, combined with their diagnosis of Autism and SEN, are their speech & language delay challenges. The students are academically capable and are expected to sit their English GCSE in KS4 – Y11, but their speech & language challenges mean that they are a year or two behind their mainstream counterpart in terms of the national curriculum.

• English Teacher - SEN School - (UK QTS Required)
• Delivering engaging and creative English lessons – SEN Focused - KS3-KS4
• Working alongside a range of ‘Good - Outstanding’ Class Teachers and Therapists
• September 2022 start - Permanent Contract – Full Time
•* MPS2-UPS1 - £31,604 - £42,559 +up to £4,479 SEN Allowance and possible TLR *

PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Must hold UK QTS
• You must be an ambitious SEN English Teacher, seeking progression and career development
• Must be able to work well within a supportive team
• Must have a strong understanding of special educational needs (SEN)
• Confident with teaching English for secondary aged pupils with Autism, Speech & Language delay and SEN more broadly
• Previous lessons observations would be desirable – Good or Outstanding
