Description
We are looking for a SEND administrator to provide an administrative service to the SENDCo and SEND team.

Main Areas of Responsibility
The purpose of your role will be:
- To support the SENDCo in maintaining a high standard of record keeping for all pupils with special educational needs and disabilities
- To produce accurate agendas and minutes from all meetings relating to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities
- To support and diarise the provision for EHCP review processes
- To develop and manage the SEND filing system (including emails, record of telephone conversations), the archiving, retrieval and disposing of SEND information as appropriate
- To liaise with primary/feeder schools and external services ensuring that all SEND information is received
- To forward SEND information to transfer schools
- To communicate on behalf of the SENDCo with key members of staff and outside agencies to ensure pupils with special educational needs and disabilities receive excellent levels of care and support
- To communicate on behalf of the SENDCo with parents of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities
- To support the SENDCo in managing the process of assessment and testing for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities
- To support the SENDCo in managing all aspects of record keeping in relation to pupils’ access arrangements
- To support the SENDCo in maintaining timetables and rotas for teaching assistants
- To respond to email, telephone and other queries as necessary
- To undertake general office duties such as photocopying and refreshments
- To undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by the SENDCo
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- A high level of written oral communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and in partnership with teachers and other staff
- Effective communication skills to be able to develop open and constructive relationships with a wide range of young people and staff
- The ability to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with teaching and other support staff
- Good level of ICT skills
- The ability to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students
- The ability to communicate positively with parents/carers and where appropriate outside agencies in a way that facilitates effective links between home and school
- Good communication skills both writing and speaking
- Ability to lead and manage own work effectively and take responsibility for own professional development
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure
