Are you a team player and have the experience and passion to support the commissioning of services for Surrey’s residents and ready for your next challenge? Surrey County Council is on an ambitious, and exciting journey and we are looking for a Commissioning Officer to join our team.
This post is in the SEND and Inclusion Commissioning Team and will help us develop services, implement the best practice and ensure value for money is achieved. We are looking for a passionate professional with relevant experience to join our dynamic team. To this role, you must bring knowledge and experience of national practice and legislation and understand the direction of the wider Commissioning
As a valued member of the team, you will be using your project management and commissioning experience to build evidence base around new approaches, whilst implementing service redesign and transformation. You will be working across key areas such as, needs analysis, option appraisal, tendering, contract review and financial analysis. You will have experience of managing projects, have an understanding of public sector accountability and can work and influence at strategic level. You must be passionate and accustomed to working in complex environments and working with partners.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to further develop your commissioning and project management skills within a supportive team environment.
If you are that reliable, organised, and passionate individual with excellent writing skills and experience then please do apply.
To apply and be considered for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- Degree qualified, or significant vocational experience demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding relevant work/roles.
- Proven problem solving, research and analytical skills with the ability to work on own initiative
- Flexibility to work across different workstreams and manage competing priorities with a solution focused approach
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including facilitation and presentation skills
This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We're less about you driving to work and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint. We care about how you work rather than where you work; the people rather than the postcode. In support of our people and our greener futures strategies, we'd welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what remote working may look like for you. On occasion, there will be a commitment to attending meetings in one of our Surrey offices but flexible home working is supported.
At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
