A forward thinking secondary school with state of the art facilities, is looking to hire a Business and Economics department offers GCSE Business Studies (AQA), A Level Business (AQA) and A Level Economics (Edexcel A Specification) Level 3 BTEC Business. Business Studies and Economics are exciting and popular subjects at this school and this is reflected in the variety of teaching styles employed, using differentiated activities and resources. The department strongly encourages both group work and independent learning. Students are encouraged to be 'topical and current' ensuring that they make themselves aware of how business and global economies function and are evolving.

Expectations:

  • Play an active role in the development of the Business and Economics curriculum providing specific expertise and guidance and lead on the delivery of mastery programmes and the curriculum.
  • Be accountable for the learning and achievement of all students studying Business and Economics.
  • To liaise with subject colleagues and TLR holders at the school to support strategic development, share good practice and plan collaborative activities.
  • To ensure that the school is represented positively locally, regionally and nationally within any educational context

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced leader and can manage staff
  • Have a proven track record of improvement
  • Have a Master's Degree (desirable)
  • Have the skills to teach across the age ranges of 11-18
  • Promote the educational success and outstanding outcomes of all our students through strong leadership
  • Have excellent communication skills and enthuse staff and implement ideas
  • Have experience at a large multicultural school
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
