Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Global Supply Chain to join the team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, following a Hybrid working pattern. You will join on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £55-65k per annum.

As a Head of Global Supply Chain, the successful candidate will play an integral role in acting as the overall lead for the Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics activities. They are responsible for the high quality, efficient, and compliant execution of supply chain requirements at our clients offices and field operations. This encompasses operations at the global and country offices, including procurement, logistics, warehousing, fleet management, freight forwarding and administration at country level ensuring that the staff at all levels are trained and managed to perform their responsibilities at a high level. Supply Chain works in close coordination with Programmes and Compliance Teams to ensure our client delivers in a timely and transparent manner the relief items and services to the people it serves.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Head of Global Supply Chain:
- Develop and maintain supply chain’s strategies, policies and manuals
- Lead and coordinate global supply chain training and capacity-building
- Manage supply chain compliance
- Network, and lead and represent on inter-agency topics and workshops, networking at high level with stakeholders
- Work in close co-ordination with the Global Procurement and Logistics Manager to strengthen the global supply chain processes and systems in a more strategic and centrally-managed approach
- Lead on the delivery of procurement and logistics management to ensure savings and proper utilisation of funds
- Work in close co-ordination with the Global Procurement and Logistics Manager to create, identify and execute opportunities for savings and process improvement for common procurement and logistics
- Support relevant teams to procure and support emergency response products and services
- Assume overall oversight of inventory management for the field offices, head office and aid supplies
- Work in close co-ordination with the Global Procurement and Logistics Manager to ensure ethical purchasing and minimise procurement fraud and corruption
- Act as the overall lead on the development, supply, planning, and logistics function including general procurement
What we’re looking for in a Head of Global Supply Chain:
- A bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Development, or a related field
- Master’s degree desirable
- Extensive supply chain experience in humanitarian sector
- Experience of undertaking a wide range of humanitarian logistics activities including; National and international procurement, Tender design and management, Asset management, Warehouse management and In-kind donation management.
- Track record of achievement in a previous, similar role with INGOs at field as well as HQ levels with experience specifically in a logistics role at a senior level
- Experience of team management, including leading and motivating remote teams in a positive and professional manner
- Good understanding of best practice and compliance issues related to global supply chain management
- Budget-management experience, with a high degree of numeracy and accuracy
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languagesare desirable
