Description

The starting salary for this role is £41,127 per annum and is based on a 36 hour working week, based at Quadrant Court, 35 Guildford Road, Woking, GU22 7QQ.

Surrey County Council Children's Services are continuing on their journey of transformation with them having recently been graded by Ofsted as Requires Improvement. To achieve their vision, the Council is working to support, advise and guide their Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW), by having a NQSW supervised by a Team Manager and assessed during their ASYE by a quadrant based ASYE Assessor. The assessor is an Advanced Social Work Consultant, with extensive work experience in a number of fields who will meet with the NQSW on a monthly basis, be one of the trainers at the monthly ASYE Learning Event and advocate for them to ensure that their caseload and complexity of cases is where it should be at each review stage (these occur at three, six and twelve months).

Presently there is a vacancy for an ASYE Assessor in the North West quadrant with the office being in Woking, although there would be an expectation that the ASYE Assessor will travel when undertaking direct observations. It would be preferred if the applicant has undertaken Practice Educator training, although this can be undertaken when in role.

To be shortlisted to interview, your CV will clearly evidence:

  • A Social Work qualification such as a Degree, Masters or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work.
  • Experience of working with children, young people and their families within a statutory setting.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Hold a valid UK driver's license and have access to a vehicle.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about thevalues we follow.

The job advert closes at 23:59 on 10.07.2022.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.
