The School is developing its research portfolio across its areas of critical mass in Appetite and Obesity, Cognition, and Health. The School has a strong portfolio of child-focused research across these three areas; however, expertise in adult appetite / obesity is also welcome. For the current position the School is seeking candidates with research interests in eating behaviour, nutrition, health, and policy, with a potential focus on obesity throughout the life span.

The post is linked to the Head of School, Professor Jason Halford, and other staff researching appetite and obesity at Leeds. The School is looking for those with interests in: (i) the prevention and treatment of obesity, (ii) psychological factors in weight management, (iii) public health and food policy, and (iv) food insecurity, mental health, and inequalities. You will support collaborations across the school and the development of interdisciplinary research across the faculty. They will work with the University’s Global Food and Environment Institute, link to new University initiatives around child health and potentially support ongoing collaborative work with the World Health Organisation (WHO).

You will have a strong track-record in developing and leading cutting-edge research in the relevant field of psychology which complements the existing expertise at the School.
