An opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant, within their Finance Team reporting to CEO.

The main objectives of the role are:

Responsible for the smooth operation and management of the company’s finance function; preparation and maintenance of accurate, up to date, financial records and reports for all of the companies activities, including:

• Monthly management accounts
• Budgets and forecasts;
• Payroll;
• VAT

All positions are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exemptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for an Enhanced Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions, cautions, warnings and reprimands

Management Accountant Responsibilities

• Personal initiative expected to be exercised referring complex policy problems to the Chief Executive
• To exercise judgement on the preparation and presentation of financial and management accounts
• Provide advice on key commercial decisions
• To take all decisions in connection with the management of cashflow
• Preparation of timely monthly management accounts and finance reports
• Preparation of annual budget and rolling forecasts
• To oversee the preparation of annual statutory accounts
• To support all operational project managers with provision of timely financial information and analysis
• To implement and maintain effective financial control systems and to plan
• Working with the HR manager to prepare and process the monthly payroll
• Authorise payments and act as bank signatory
• Review and enhance systems and/or sub-systems which reflect the changing needs of the organisation
• To maintain positive, professional working relationships with bankers and auditors
• Responsible for maintaining inventories of Group assets
• To provide costings for all business activities including bids to external organisations as required
• Attend Senior Management Team and Board meetings
