Do you have experience as a Data Protection Officer? Are you able to communicate compliance matters to colleagues at various levels?

We are looking for a motivated and talented compliance professional to join the team as Head of Compliance. The role is responsible for efficiently and effectively ensuring that Ambition Institute has systems and processes in place to manage Continuity, Security and Compliance matters across the organisation. You'll be responsible for ensuring that external standards and certifications are met, together warranting that our partners meet our standards and ours meet theirs.

You'll focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to data protection legislation, contractual and legal compliance and managing a compliance reporting framework.

As the Head of Compliance, you'll serve as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.

Working in a hybrid way, you’ll report to the Director of Technology, Facilities and Compliance and be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office. In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team days and this may be reviewed by us.

You'll line manage the Compliance Officer and work closely with the Governance Manager to ensure that a strong risk and compliance culture is embedded in the organisation. Your aim will be to achieve the required level of data consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs as well as defining data retention periods.
