This school is Oxford’s first new secondary school for over 50 years and opened in September 2019. When full, there will be approximately 1,200 students on the roll, of whom around 300 will be in the Sixth Form.

They now seek a Premises Assistant who will play a crucial part in the operational life of the school and who will uphold the standards that the School has set.

Premises Assistant key responsibilities:

• Lock/unlock school buildings and areas for staff or lettings, undertake regular security checks and identify security risks

• Monitor fire safety and security equipment, operate & respond to alarm systems

• Ensure external areas are kept clean, free of litter and weeds, and gritted/salted when appropriate in winter

• Undertake minor repairs and minor decoration

• Operation of heating plant, cooling, and lighting systems

• Undertake regular site inspections and identify and record repair and maintenance requirements

• Collect and assemble waste for collection

• Undertake cleaning duties including graffiti removal, litter picking

• Provide emergency access to the school site

• Arrange furniture in preparation for school events

• Refill and replace consumables e.g., soap & towels

• Act as school contact in relation to premises related contractors

• You will need to be aware of all Health and safety issues in and around the school.
