Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent Practice Lead for prevention and early intervention in the Youth Justice Service within Swansea Child and Family Services.

The Youth Justice Service work with children and young people (aged between10-18) to prevent offending and re-offending. The team is responsible for the assessment and supervision of all children and young people subject to statutory court orders both within the community and the custodial environment. The team also works with children and young people who are on the periphery of offending behaviour or anti-social behaviour with the aim of diverting them into a more positive future.

In Swansea we believe our workforce is our greatest asset and we will ensure you have the right support and a positive working environment to deliver outstanding social care to children, young people, and families. We recognise that social workers and project workers undertake a challenging but rewarding role and value the resilience they show by overcoming challenges every day. Practice Leads within the youth justice service will need to have an excellent understanding of the importance of building relationships and connecting with children and young people. Practice Lead’s will model positive behaviour and will have the skills and knowledge to supervise social workers and project workers, providing guidance and support and encouraging personal development.

You will be a highly experienced senior social worker, and relish the opportunity to work in a fast paced, creative and supportive environment. Experience with working with children and young people who have been involved in the criminal justice system will be essential. We are looking for a passionate, creative person, committed to understanding the challenges faced by children and young people. Someone who wants to support the best outcomes for children and young people and has an interest in prevention and early intervention.

We are advertising for a permanent Practice Lead within Swansea Youth Justice Service.Should you wish to discuss the post in further detail, please contact Helen Williams, Team Manager on 07917200060 or [email protected].
