Description

The starting salary for this role is £46,634 per annum for working 36 hours per week.

Surrey County Council IT & Digital service is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant (Solution Architect).

You will work in the IT Architecture team who support the council in the solution design of IT projects and programmes. This role represents an opportunity to be part of the team within the new service that will see Architecture working closer with the Project Delivery teams, the IT Project Management Office and the Service Transition team.

The Architecture team currently have a high but varied workload that at present includes looking for solutions for lone working social workers, replacing the council’s ERP systems, and helping develop solutions across the Integrated Care System. This role will allow you the chance to deliver value directly to the council’s core services that have a real-world impact on Surrey and its residents.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in the practice of IT Architecture and has knowledge of the TOGAF framework. You’ll work with the solution architects in Surrey and in both East Sussex and Brighton and Hove City Council to further develop architecture practices and processes across the Orbis partnership.

The role also demands close working with the council’s IT Strategy and Engagement including the IT Business Partners and our Enterprise Technology Teams to understand the demands of the council and develop robust solution designs.

This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We're less about you driving to work and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint. We care about how you work rather than where you work; the people rather than the postcode. In support of our people and our greener futures strategies, we'd welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what remote working may look like for you.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
