Description

Mobile Support Worker

Nobody chooses the family or circumstances they are born into. The charity firmly believes that with the right care, there is no limit to what can be achieved.

We have an opportunity for a Mobile Support Worker so if you’re looking for a varied role which incorporates community and residential services then this is the role for you.

Position: Mobile Support Worker

Location: Norfolk and East Cambridgeshire

Job type: Permanent

Hours: 38 hours per week (inclusive of travel time)

Salary: £10.28 - £10.59 per hour (£20,321 - £21,433 per annum) plus all mileage at 45p per mile.

Closing Date: 31st July 2022

Interview Date: Interviews for suitable candidates will be taking place on a rolling basis. This means the role may close at short notice and without prior warning. The first interview will be a Safe Care/Warner style interview. If successful after the first interview, candidates will then be expected to attend a formal interview.

The charity work across East Anglia with children and young people on the edge of care, in care and leaving care. Whether you’re interested in working in one of the residential homes and short breaks for children with disabilities, the pioneering Staying Close Staying Connected project or vital essentials like the family assessment centre and wraparound care offer, one thing is universal: you’ll be joining a team of passionate and dedicated individuals who want the very best for the young people they care for.

Why here?

The organisation invests in the future of staff just as it does for the young people in the services, striving to provide the highest quality of care, so whether you’re just starting your career in children’s social care or are already qualified, you’ll be supported, recognised and rewarded for your essential part in this vital work.

About the Role

As a Mobile Support Worker you’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of services. Two days are never the same in this role as you work across Norfolk and East Cambridgeshire to provide consistent care for service users.

You’ll work with young people between the ages of 5 and 25 providing extra support and shift cover in residential services for young people and those with disabilities, in the ‘Staying Close, Staying Connected service’ – a pioneering leaving care offer, in the family assessment centre and at the disability short break centre.

To be successful in the role you’ll be patient, a good team player, and a problem solver.

In your role, you’ll have access to the following benefits:

  • All travel time and travel expenses are covered by Break (up to 45p per mile)
  • Free, career-enhancing qualifications
  • A “golden hello” scheme welcoming you to our services, with £250 paid to you one month after your start date and a second £250 at the six-month mark.
  • A referral scheme offering the same two payments as the golden hello if you recommend a contact who goes on to be employed by Break.
  • Access to the Blue Light card scheme (joining fee reimbursed)
  • A free counselling service to all our employees.
  • The opportunity to influence Break’s strategy and direction through the Staff Consultation Forum.
  • Life assurance to the value of 3x your annual salary.
  • Enhanced sick pay.
  • Free flu jabs.
