We are currently looking for a Primary Teacher to work in a specialist school in Ipswich. Primary and Secondary Teachers are suitable to apply for this position.

The school has new fantastic facilities and offer an innovative setting for young people to learn. You will have the opportunity to work with education specialists who offer a holistic learning approach. In this setting you will develop your teaching style further and add to your current experience.

The position is to start in September full time. You will be working with pupils with SEMH and Autism. The specialist school offers a supportive staffing network and management team. As Teacher you will be leading small classes of 5-8 pupils with an individual focus on the learning and development of each pupil.

You will be given support from the subject leads with lesson plans and the individual learning goals for each pupil. The lessons are dynamic and creative with a lot of focus around the individual learning styles. There is support from 3rd party suppliers and outdoor learning suppliers with onsite and offsite sessions.

The position

  • Lead a class of 5-8 pupils and manage a small team of TAs
  • You will be expected to work with core subject leads to deliver lessons to the abilities of the pupils.
  • Use to behaviour de-escalation techniques when required
  • Work closely with the supportive staffing team to assist pupils in reaching their individual learning goals.
  • Offer a safe and nurturing environment for young people with EHCPs, this will include working closely with the pastoral team.

The ideal Teacher for this position

  • Will be QTS qualified or equivalent
  • Have at least 2 years teaching experience
  • Be confident in working with pupils at KS2 and KS3
  • A creative style to engage learners
  • Be able to create a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEMH and additional needs

There will be training provided by the school and specific SEN safeguarding training.
