The salary range for this role is £36,282 - £40,146 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

Are you looking for an opportunity to work in an innovative multi-agency service? Do you have experience or are you seeking experience of working with adolescents with a range of complex needs? We are looking for a Social Worker with the ability to think creatively when engaging and working with young people with complex mental health and social care needs.

There will be development opportunities in Children and Young People Services.

This innovative and exciting multi-disciplinary service is provided by Health, Social Care and Education professionals to young people aged 11-18 years old with mental health, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, living in Surrey. We are a Centre of Clinical Excellence and awarded Outstanding by Ofsted.

We are seeking a Social Worker to work at the Hope service who will work with young people with complex mental health, behavioural and social care needs and their families. You will contribute to the delivery of interventions for young people with complex emotional, social and mental health needs, bringing a social care perspective to the work. You will be working with a complex caseload of young people within the Hope service, providing a range of evidence based and best practice interventions within the community, to support and protect young people with mental health difficulties and their families.

You will be required to undertake a holistic assessment which includes their mental health and risk of young people, families and carers at home, in general hospitals and psychiatric hospitals. This role also requires attendance at all statutory meetings in relation to cases you are involved with including Professionals meetings, Child Protection Conferences, Core Group meetings, care planning approach meetings, CLA and Child in Need meetings with a particular focus on ensuring that the emotional, social and mental health needs of children are met effectively with robust risk management.

You will receive regular high quality, reflective supervision by experienced Team Managers as well as clinical group supervision. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated staff member with experience in working with young people with complex needs to support their colleagues in both Epsom and Guildford.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • Professional social work qualification, CQSW or Diploma in Social Work (Dip SW)
  • Registered with social care England or in process of registration
  • This is a Social work role working specifically with Emotional Wellbeing, Social and Mental Health. There will be an expectation of experience or knowledge of evidence-based practice in Family Therapy, Counselling, Solution Focused Therapy or similar and Mental Health. Sound experience of undertaking direct therapeutic work with children and young people, working with parents, families, carers and the networks to achieve optimal outcomes for children and young people
  • Ability to show initiative and work effectively within multi-agency and inter-professional settings
  • To liaise, communicate and work in partnership with other internal departments, and partner agencies
  • Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle that is insured for work use
