Description

Qualifications Manager
Newport, Gwent (with remote working)

About Us

We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales. We focus on publicly funded qualifications, including GCSEs, A-Levels and vocational qualifications.

We’re currently looking for at least four Qualifications Managers to join us on fixed term contracts until 31st March 2025, working 37 hours per week.

We would be interested in considering applications to take up these positions as a secondment opportunity of up to two years for all roles.

Our employees are working on a hybrid basis, which means that the contractual base is our office at Imperial Park, Newport, but employees can work flexibly with a balance between home and the office. We are open to discussing whether these roles could be delivered remotely.

We aim to appoint one fluent Welsh speaker for this recruitment exercise.

The Benefits

- Salary of £40,100 - £47,470 per annum
- 30 days’ annual leave (in addition to public holidays and up to three days office closure at Christmas)
- Flexible working arrangements
- Membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme

The Role

As a Qualifications Manager, you will initially join the Qualifications Policy and Reform Directorate.

Leading on key projects, you will be involved in a wide range of different work. This may include projects on qualifications for the new Curriculum for Wales, vocational and technical qualifications, sector reviews, Skills Challenge Certificate (within the Welsh Baccalaureate) or Essential Skills Wales.

Your work will be high profile and influential and you will play a lead role in qualifications review and reform.
