Description
We are seeking an experienced Theatre Technician who can play a key role providing technical support with a wide variety of events which are held at Dudley and Stourbridge Town Halls and the Cornbow Hall, Halesowen.
You will be working on events such as the Council's professional entertainment programme, meetings, conferences, amateur performances and Stourbridge Town Hall's cinema programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Organising the rigging and setting up of lighting, sound AV and stage equipment
• Setting up props, masking etc. on stage and organising get-ins and get-outs
• The safety, inspection, maintenance and repair of lighting, sound, stage and AV equipment
• The maintenance and minor repair of technical equipment, e.g. lanterns, CD or DVD players, projectors, screens, monitors etc., ordering repairs where necessary
You will also be responsible for the management of a small team of casual technicians, rostering them as required.
This is a highly rewarding and interesting post, getting involved in a huge variety of events.
You will need demonstrable extensive experience of technical work in a theatre or public entertainment environment, with experience of rigging and operating sound and lighting equipment. Significant knowledge and experience of health and safety requirements and experience of risk assessment is equally important.
