Description
Role – Regional Pharmacist
Location – Yeovil, Winchester and Dorchester
(Please note – you will be required to travel between locations)
Salary – £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
REGISTRATION FEES PAID! (GPhC, NMC, CIPD etc)

Role
Our client are looking for Pharmacists to work in their vaccination hubs. Their vaccination hubs also provide other health services such as smoking and weight loss clinics, blood pressure monitoring, Phlebotomy, general health checks, audiology ear irrigation, consultation services as well as flu, travel and Covid-19 vaccinations. Our client's staff ensure that all patients received the highest quality of care by ensuring clinical accuracy and patient safety. This role will see you reporting directly to a services team manager, with support from the superintendent’s team.
Travel between sites will be expected. You will not have one home site.
Responsibilities
- Assume the role of Pharmacist or Supervising Pharmacist at a vaccination centre or pharmacy services centre
- Demonstrate competence in providing vaccination services by means of an assessment process prior to engagement
- Perform vaccinations for influenza and Covid-19 using a PGD / NHS National Protocol
- Counsel patients on their vaccination, potential adverse reactions, and recognise and manage anaphylaxis
- Supervise other pharmacists, healthcare professionals and supporting staff on site to ensure a safe and professional service
- Assist other staff with vaccination training and sign-off competency where appropriate
- Comply with all local and national SOPs, and legal, ethical, and professional standards for the vaccination service
- Host site inspections from the GPhC, NHS England, and other bodies as necessary; ensure the vaccination centre always meets the GPhC standards for registered pharmacies
- Liaise with the site team, services team, and the Superintendent Pharmacist’s team
- Manage any concerns at the vaccination centre and promptly raise any issues
Skills
- Previous experience of providing a vaccination service
- Training and accreditation is up to date and compliant with GPhC and NHS England standards for providing a vaccination service
- Ability to recognise and manage anaphylaxis on site
- Familiar with all legal, ethical and professional requirements for the role
- Experience in leading teams and in driving continuous improvement
- Safeguarding training
- The ability to multitask and prioritise activities
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined working practices
- Highly responsible, with a high degree of integrity
- Meet performance and quality standards
- Professional indemnity insurance in place to cover all areas of practice, including vaccination
