A long term portfolio of work to reengineer business processes, data architecture and internal technical applications which enable our end-to-end engagement with, and management of, client work within the UK firm. The scope includes data for the management of our clients, opportunities and engagements, risk and independence and finance. The initial work will focus on the engagement management and finance capabilities with a view to sharing trusted data and ensuring seamless integration across the capabilities in scope.

The Client Engagement Lifecycle represents a portfolio of multiple initiatives, implementations and technology changes. Collectively these reflect our intent to deliver on the New Equation and invest in new skills, capabilities and technologies that will empower our people and enhance the digital user experience for clients, partners and staff

The EMFI Programme within the CELC Portfolio covers a significant part of the Client Engagement Lifecycle business process and supporting technology, and will therefore be managed as a distinct programme with the UK’s Strategic Change Portfolio. The EMFI scope includes the following Engagement and Financial Management business processes:

What a Lead Data Architect does to support the CELC portfolio

Working closely with the CELC Lead Architect and Senior Architects in Tech Central, CDO, Global and the EMFI programme, the Lead CELC Data Architect will drive data architecture across the end-to-end client and engagement life cycle portfolio, ensuring alignment with, and informing, the broader PwC data strategy, architecture and design of data within the firm's application landscape to deliver the UK firm’s vision of an integrated & efficient experience across CELC. They will be accountable and responsible for establishing the data architecture and design framework to enable the development of consistent data design across all products and services within the CELC scope. There will be an initial, particular focus on the EMFI programme.

Using the firm’s Enterprise Data Model (EDM) as a reference point, the role will be to:

  • Understand how data is organised and used in applications in the current UK CELC landscape
  • Understand how data is organised and used in the CELC to-be landscape (largely pre-determined)
  • Identify and address any UK data requirement gaps
  • Steer the UK transition to the e2e to-be data architecture.
  • Evaluate options and contribute to interim solutions which move the CELC & EMFI data architecture towards its end goal.
  • Be responsible for and oversee the data architecture and design of all products and services within CELC scope ensuring the data:
    • meets UK business requirements for the product/service /component
    • is consistent (meaning, format and values) across the organisation
    • conforms to all data and data architecture principles and data design standards
    • is documented in standard formats is ali
    • gned with Business and IT architecture and strategy.
  • With other lead/senior architects, help establish an architecture /design governance process for CELC scope leveraging other governance procedures where appropriate and participate in that process
  • Maintain the CELC data architecture roadmap
