You will be working for a charity dedicated to helping create a more autism-friendly society. You will make a positive difference in people's lives every day. Role: Shift Leader
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire - Working across multiple sites
Salary: £21,312 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 ½ hours a week
Closing date: 19th August 2022
Interviews: Thursday 1st September & Friday 2nd September
About the role:
As a Shift Leader, you will help to improve the lives of the adults this charity supports by promoting understanding and acceptance of people with autism and helping them to be included and feel valued within their communities. You will be committed to maximising personal liberties and enabling people to make choices and decisions about their own lives. To ensure the highest standards of support are provided to the people who are supported by LAS, you will work within local and national guidelines and always strive to provide the best experience for our service users.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To support the Manager with handover planning to ensure safe practice and needs of individuals are being met
- To delegate responsibilities to senior and support staff
- Liaising with staff to monitor the success of inductions of new support staff
- Promote sound care planning practices in the service
- Ensure the safe administration and storage of medication, in line with LAS policy
- Ensuring that good standards of hygiene/cleanliness are maintained
- To conduct formal supervision/appraisals for Support and Relief staff
- Attend review meetings when requested
- Participate actively in Support and Development (supervision) sessions with designated members of staff
- Complete all appropriate recording formats including Health and Safety, service User’s medication etc.
- Be proactive in supporting organisational policies/procedures, and report any concerns to the supervisor/line manager
