We have an exciting opportunity for CEO with a fundraising background to lead a charity that is passionate about seeing young people build confidence and make positive choices in their relationships, education and health.
Location: Loughborough Office / Hybrid working opportunities
Salary: £50k - £55k
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
About the role:
The CEO will take the lead of a successful and growing charity. You will be leading a small team committed to supporting young people in schools and their surrounding community, specialising in delivering a range of programmes covering relationships and sex education and supporting those facing difficult situations in these areas.
You will be responsible for an initial budget of £320,000 and lead the organization’s strategy development and programme delivery to grow the charity’s impact. You will also lead the implementation of a 3 year business plan and fundraising strategy.
Some duties and key responsibilities include:
- To lead the strategic direction of Charity, and lead and shape strategy to meet the organisation’s vision
- To develop and implement a 3-year business plan.
- To lead the development of the culture and values of the organisation.
- To build external relationships with major donors and networking across the region to act as the ‘public face’ of the charity to advance their work and profile.
- To ensure the financial viability of the charity and its compliance with all legal responsibilities.
- Develop, with in-house Fundraisers, a fundraising strategy to drive the funds required to deliver on targets
- Personally raise income and play a significant role in leading the organisation towards agreed targets.
- To ensure the organisation delivers excellence in its approach to safeguarding young people whose issues range from mental health to neglect and honour-based violence.
- To lead, motivate and develop the team.
- To further the aims of the charity by having an influence on public policy.
About you:
You will need the following essential skills and experience:
- Outstanding organisational and leadership skills
- Proven fundraising experience in grants and trusts
- Knowledge of governance and general best practices
- Ability to use financial reports to direct business decisions
- Resilience when facing challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
