Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrument Technician to join us at our Fort Cumberland site. You will join a small dynamic team of archaeological scientists who work on cultural materials from across England, whether it be artefacts recovered from Protected Wreck sites, Anglo-Saxon grave goods or artworks in need of conservation.
What you will be doing
You will be instrumental in running our new X-ray facility, including welcoming visiting researchers and building our client base. You have direct input into research by undertaking data collection and contributing to the smooth running of the laboratories, making sure problems are dealt with promptly to minimise equipment down-time. We are passionate about heritage and love working with people who share that passion.
What we are looking for
-A recognised professional qualification as an instrument technician or an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
-Trained as a Radiation Protection Supervisor
-Proven experience in the use of X-ray equipment
-Experience in operating analytical equipment
-Good organisational skills including attention to detail
-Proven qualities as a team player including willingness to learn new skills
