Description
Ofqual is the independent qualifications regulator for England. We currently regulate 200 awarding organisations, and approx. 11,600 certified qualifications. These include GCSEs, AS and A levels, and a broad range of vocational and technical qualifications. Regulating on behalf of students of all ages and apprentices is central to how we fulfil our statutory objectives.

We're redeveloping one of Ofqual's most important services - our Register. The Register offers details about the organisations and qualifications we regulate to thousands of users every month, and they'll be using it for a variety of different reasons.
We're excited about enriching the information, usability, relevance and accessibility of the Register to enable students and apprentices, employers, schools and colleges, and citizens to make informed decisions about regulated qualifications.
The project team will make sure we thoroughly understand our current and potential user base, design a platform that they can easily navigate, and develop this on an MS Azure cloud native platform. We use an agile approach and work to the Government Digital Service (GDS) standards for digital service projects, and by joining the team you'll collaborate closely with the other specialist project roles, and our wider Information Management directorate.
There are a lot of different Register users, potential users and stakeholders, and as our User Researcher you will be responsible for understanding and articulating who they are, what they're trying to achieve and how the Register contributes to this. From the Discovery phase through to public Beta and beyond, you'll help to make sure we develop a service that meets - and exceeds - the user needs placed on it.
