Description
Presenting an opportunity to shape the future of one of Scotland's best loved venues.
From Nina Simone to David Byrne, international classical heavyweights to cutting edge contemporary innovators, our stage has hosted the greats and the soon-to-be greats. We're home to the past and future of live performance and we're seeking a Chair who can lead us through our next chapter as an Edinburgh institution.
We welcome applications from enthusiastic people comfortable with an outward-facing advocacy role and who have a passion for music and the arts.
The Queen’s Hall has a unique position as a mid-sized concert hall providing performance space for live music across all genres - classical, jazz, folk, rock, pop, and contemporary music, and it is a key Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe venue. The Queen’s Hall plays an important part in the development of Scottish musicians and audiences – it is a trusted music hub for the city and beyond.
The Hall is an independent charity with a strong Board and small, effective management team and has come through the pandemic on a secure financial, operational, and artistic footing, with significant investment in the building. The new Chair will join us at an interesting time as the city’s musical ambitions expand with new venues and Nicola Benedetti takes the helm at the Edinburgh International Festival. We seek a Chair to build on this and take forward our plans to enhance QH’s brand and position within the Scottish cultural scene.
If you would like to be considered for Chair of The Queen’s Hall Board, please send:
- Your CV
- A cover letter setting out your interest in the role, relevant experience including any specific skills that you could bring to the Board, and examples of how you meet the requirements of the role
- Details of any business or any other interests which might give rise to conflict of interest, and how you would address this should your application be successful
Please get in touch via email for further information or to arrange a chat with a current Board Member.
