About ARU:

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. We are ranked in the world’s top 350 HEIs in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings and in the top ten mainstream universities in the country for the proportion of UK undergraduates in employment 15 months after graduating. We have campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, London and Peterborough with around 2,500 staff and 35,000 students from 180 countries. With a focussed civic mission, we are committed to working with others through education, research and knowledge exchange to enhance the economic, cultural and social wellbeing of the communities in which we work and live.

About the role:

The Faculty of Science and Engineering is sector-leading in the development and provision of Degree Apprenticeships. Based in Chelmsford and Cambridge, the Faculty delivers Degree Apprenticeships in various subjects, such as Bioinformatics, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Town Planning, Data Science, Data Technology and Hearing Aid Audiology.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced skills coach to join our team to develop and lead apprentices through their apprenticeship journey, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to succeed. You will liaise with apprentices, employers and internal key contacts to develop our student-focused service, conducting regular reviews with students and their employers to measure progress and agree the way forward.

Educated to degree level, you will have the relevant study skills coaching experience and knowledge of Degree Apprenticeship requirements. Sector-specific experience in the above disciplines or a related field would be an advantage. You will be highly customer-focused, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have experience of providing one-to-one study skills support to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
