We are a close team and in order to work together, keep building team spirit and collaborate on our work we expect you to work from the office for up to 2 days a week. Outside of this we want you to work wherever you feel most comfortable and productive, including from home!

Do you have proven expertise in Application Management? Do you like a challenge and working through problems until you find a solution?

Are you the kind of person who is always trying to find better ways of doing things and developing yourself?

Would you like to be part of a team supporting colleagues across Surrey County Council and helping them be more productive?

If the answer is yes, then this could be your next step!

Your role will be to provide technical expertise in the support and development of business applications. Your objective will be to ensure that new developments meet the requirements of the organisation while ensuring that a high level of customer support is maintained.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a demonstrable track record of supporting key database systems with a large user base. Proven experience of successful, collaborative working on application developments with IT colleagues, service experts and third-party suppliers is essential. The Applications Specialist role needs to combine technical knowledge with a proactive approach to planning and solution delivery.

As important as system knowledge, is the desire to constantly learn new skills, own issues and be tenacious. There is also a requirement for excellent communications skills, attention to detail and the ability to document and share knowledge.

Our team is proud of the excellent customer service it provides but is committed to a philosophy of continuous improvement; promoting innovation, sharing knowledge and skills and seeking personal development.
