Description

Come and teach in NZ, 2023!

"Hey, you Brits! Have you ever considered teaching some of our ‘Tamariki’ schoolkids down here in ‘Aotearoa’ New Zealand?

Aotearoa means ‘the land of the long white cloud’ in Maori, and the first Polynesian seafarers named it this because when they arrived all they could see was a long white cloud that stretched out forever.

Nowadays, you get here by airplane, not canoe, and we are only a couple of flights away from London or Manchester, so why don’t you come on down?"

Teachers, New Zealand
Primary and Secondary, Full Time and Casual Options
Salary circa. NZ$90,000 per annum
Rpresentatives to be in UK this October

Our client is a reputable, specialist teacher recruitment company based in Auckland, NZ. Their staff are going to be in the UK in early October and are looking to meet British trained teachers – from NQTs to twenty-year classroom veterans – who wish to work in NZ schools during the coming NZ school year (31 Jan – 19 Dec 2023).

Some of the opportunities on offer are as follows:

  • Fulltime Primary Teaching
  • Fulltime Secondary Teaching
  • Casual (Supply) Primary & Intermediate Teaching

Remuneration:

  • Annual FTE salaries of up to NZD$90,000 (non-promoted posts) before tax, dependent on qualifications and experience.
  • Attractive daily rates for casual relief (supply) teaching in and around Auckland

International Relocation Grants:

The NZ Ministry of Education offers a one-off grant of up to NZD$5,000 to overseas trained teachers who will be working fulltime in contracts of a year or more, in state or state integrated schools (T & Cs apply)

Visas:

Non-NZ citizens or residents require work eligibility to teach in NZ and the client's staff will offer information on options and pathways to obtaining the appropriate visa to enable you to start teaching in NZ

Working holiday visas:

Two options exist for UK citizens aged 30 years and under to travel to NZ and work casually, for up to two years.

This can be an excellent an uncomplicated way to have an initial ‘look-see’ at Aotearoa and work in some NZ schools while travelling and seeing the country at the same time

Pathways to Residency:

The NZ Government has recently re-opened the country’s borders to immigration again and for those teachers in full time ongoing employment, pathways to residency are opening up (especially) for STEM, science, technology, engineering, and maths, teachers
