Description

Is encouraging and motivating people your superpower? Could your exceptional customer service skills inspire volunteers to raise the vital funds needed to help save young people's lives?

Working for the UK's leading charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide, the biggest killer of people aged 35, you agree with our client that suicide can be preventable with the right support and education.

As Volunteer Engagement Officer, you'll help to fund the incredible HopelineUK ensuring it's staffed with highly-trained suicide prevention advisers. You'll support volunteers to raise money for education and training to create suicide-safer communities, and press for change to current legislation.

Starting salary: £25,419 (rising to £28,336 with increments)
Hours: 36 hours per week, flexible working or 4 days considered
Location: Hybrid, office in Warrington

About the role:

To allow this amazing charity to continue to provide and grow this vital support, you'll develop and maintain long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with volunteers taking part in challenge and fundraising events.

You'll provide incredible customer service and stewardship to support and inspire volunteers with creative and innovative fundraising ideas. You'll be a champion and a supporter, someone to listen, cheer and motivate!

About the person:

Ideally, you've already got customer service experience, ideally in the charity sector. You're warm, friendly and get a real buzz from engaging with people.

However, we'd also welcome applications from people with transferable skills e.g. events, business development or account management wanting to take their first step into the charity sector.

Many of our client's supporters are people whose lives have been touched in some way by suicide, so we're looking for someone who is empathetic and has exceptional communication skills.

You'll also need to be highly organised and able to juggle multiple priorities, have access to a car and a full UK driving license.
