The Team
The Global Chief Data Office (GCDO) function within PwC is focused on developing world class data management capabilities and services to manage global data as a strategic business asset.
As part of the Data Quality Management Service in the GCDO, the DQMS Insights function is responsible for delivering insight to enable the Firm to improve the standard of its data quality which helps the firm reduce risk, ensure efficient use of resources and provides trusted data to support decision making.
Reporting directly to the DQMS Lead, the DQMS Insights Manager will play a critical role in transforming data into meaningful and actionable insight to support the execution of PwC’s global data strategy.
This role will involve working across multiple GCDO groups, e.g. Enterprise Architecture and Data Governance teams, as well as the use of dedicated DQ tools and processes to deliver the DQMS service to our stakeholder groups.
The role and responsibilities
We are looking for someone with a passion for data visualisation and data storytelling who has a proven track record of building innovative, compelling and visually aesthetic dashboards and data visualisation solutions. The person should be comfortable working as part of a Global team, and working in an environment undergoing a period of change.
Specific responsibilities :
Managing a small team of three analysts/developers
Engaging senior stakeholders and leading sessions to solicit requirements for dashboards and data visualisations
Capturing and documenting insight requirements (purpose, audience, data requirements, insights needed, etc.)
Building data views to be used in dashboards
Building prototype and proof of concept dashboards and data visualisations in readiness to hand off to the build team
Liasing with the build team to review and refine final outputs against the business requirements
Building infographics and bespoke visualisations/dashboards for executive level presentation and communication
Responding to ad-hoc requests for insights and executing one-off data analyses
Contributing to the definition and maintenance of the product design standards
Skills and experience
Experience of leading offshore teams and managing day to day operations across multiple continents in different time zones;
Possess stakeholder management skills, the ability to develop a work approach, project plans and communications to meet/exceed requirements and establish maximum impact/outcomes
Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g Scrum) and software (e.g Azure Devops, Kanbanchi etc)
Proficient in data analysis and querying data using SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL)
Strong data visualisation and data storytelling skill set, including experience of using data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau) would be desirable.
Data analysis skills, Data Modelling and Integration
Experience in data preparation and manipulation skills - Extraction Transformation & Loading (e.g. SSIS, Alteryx, Powercenter)
Organised, structured and analytical approach to problem solving
Proactive mind-set in dealing with challenges in a customer-driven environment
Good written and verbal communication skills, comfortable in dealing with senior stakeholders and sustain effective working relationships both virtually and physically.
