Description
Project Manager
Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent
Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home
Salary range £37,000 - £45,000 FTE pa plus benefits
We’re looking for an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead multiple cross-functional projects pivotal to our success!
University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is a long-standing and leading provider of supported online education. We exist to provide accessible, relevant and cost-effective education which enhances careers, increases professionalism and leads to a better Built Environment; we are also very passionate about sustainability. Operating from the UK and Hong Kong we have a global reach, and at any one time over 3,500 students are studying online with us. UCEM passed its first ever inspection by Ofsted with flying colours after earning an overall rating of ‘Good’ in November 2021.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to help us generate positive change, achieve our institutional vision and ensure we fully support our student’s success. We are currently delivering an eight-year programme of work to deliver UCEM’s sustainability ambitions, and a key part of this role will be delivering cross-departmental projects to support this programme. This will include projects to support UCEM to deliver its operations more sustainably, efficiently and at scale, and so we would particularly welcome applicants with experience delivering projects with a focus on process and system efficiency.
Your key responsibilities will centre around:
- Be accountable for the completion of projects you manage against agreed time, cost, scope and quality standards. Develop and maintain detailed project documentation. Develop, monitor and maintain project plans which identify the critical path and required resources. Guide and manage project teams to deliver against the project plan. Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring costs (including internal resource time) are planned and controlled. Provide guidance and support to Project Coordinators in the team. Identify, assess and manage project risks, working with stakeholders to ensure full understanding of the risk portfolio. Support the Director of Projects and Delivery Performance to plan the portfolio of projects.
To deliver these responsibilities you will need to combine your excellent communication skills, ability to develop working relationships and high level organisation skills. Experience of working with multiple stakeholders on complex projects and change initiatives, including those with multiple delivery workstreams is essential to success in this role.
At UCEM we expect employees to demonstrate our values: Passion, Integrity, Excellence and Support. Student satisfaction and success are our main drivers and our people consistently report high levels of employee engagement; your contribution will be valued should you join us.
