AUB are seeking a new Executive Director, Academic Innovation to deliver the University’s academic objectives as identified in the new AUB 2030 Strategy.
You will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the development and delivery of innovative practice in learning, teaching and assessment, with a particular emphasis on industry-partnered learning and digital enablement oriented to the needs and expectations of contemporary students. AUB has an ambitious postgraduate agenda, and you will be expected to lead significant growth in this aspect of the university’s work.
Candidates will need to have demonstrable experience of strong and effective leadership in contemporary approaches to learning, teaching and assessment, with a profound appreciation of the breadth of the student experience in a range of practice-based settings, and a grasp of the technical innovations expected in a specialist arts university. Managing change through effective communications, respectful processes, and a values-driven approach are essential aspects of the position.
This is a new position, positioned within the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive and working in collaboration with members of AUB’s leadership team that will lead and deliver in the areas of portfolio review, curriculum development and organisation, quality assurance and enhancement with a keen eye on potential opportunities to optimise innovative delivery, growth and maximisation of the AUB potential.
You will be able to lead in contemporary learning, hybrid and innovative approaches to delivery, equality, diversity and inclusivity as impacting on student learning, current practices in pedagogy and ensure such approaches are imbedded in an agile way which continually responds to the external environment.
Actively promoting an excellent student experience across all areas of the university taught provision, face-to-face and online is an essential part of the role.
