Description

We have a rare opportunity for a skilled and talented manager to lead and manage our multi-agency youth offending team in our diverse and vibrant city.

You will be committed to continuing to implement Child First principles and trauma informed practice across our youth justice service. You’ll work closely with partner agencies to prevent and divert young people from entering or re-entering the youth justice system and implement our local youth justice partnership plan.

You’ll focus on developing consistent high-quality practice and discharging statutory duties and meeting requirements in line with local and national standards and the statutory inspection framework.

You’ll lead the team in working closely with colleagues and partners to deliver creative and robust packages of support for young people and their families to help keep them safe and well, have a sense of belonging in their community, and thrive.

Our Youth Offending Team (YOT) has a central city base at The Station, a central youth hub run by the Creative Youth Network charity. The three area YOT teams are also co-located within our 3 area offices and work with young people in a range of settings, including the home.

The YOT sits within the Early Intervention and Targeted Service, which includes Families in Focus early help and edge of care/custody services. Our services sit alongside our social care teams enabling close integrated models of working. We have strong relationships with partners in other agencies and voluntary organisations in the city.

We are committed to supporting families in making lasting change, reducing statutory intervention in family life, and keeping children safely within their family network.
