Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £41,346 - £43,356 (PO3) per annum
The role
Lewisham has a proud history of supporting refugees and migrants, and we are proud to have been awarded the title of ‘Council of Sanctuary’ in May 2021, the first time a council was awarded this honour.
We are now seeking a passionate and committed individual to be our Borough of Sanctuary Programme Manager; to coordinate and drive the delivery of the programme of work across the Council and our partners, to lead on partnership working with key stakeholders, to develop and maintain robust governance and monitoring arrangements for the programme of work and to support the Refugee Resettlement Programme as required.
Location
Laurence House, Catford
Whilst the service is primarily based in Laurence House, we operate a hybrid approach whereby you may be required to work both in the office and from home as determined by service requirements.
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will have good knowledge of issues affecting refugees, migrants, asylum seekers and those at risk of exploitation through modern slavery and of current immigration legislation and policy. They will have knowledge of the services that provide support to refugees, migrants and vulnerable people and of good practice in the field of refugee and migration work.
Excellent communication skills, experience of working in partnership, the ability to engage with, enthuse and inspire a diverse range of individuals and organisations and the ability to deal with conflict are all essential.
In return, we’ll offer excellent development opportunities, plus a range of benefits that includes a career average pension scheme, flexible working and the opportunity to make a real difference to our local community.
Salary details
£41,346 - £43,356 (PO3) per annum
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
