Creative Solutions Manager

Global Water Intelligence (GWI) is looking for a Creative Solutions Manager to connect the dots in our business and take our creative strategy to the next level.

Whether it be connecting people across teams to aid collaboration, connecting customer needs and wants to our developing business strategy, or connecting a product’s purpose to the approach taken in designing and delivering it, we are looking for someone with drive, creativity, and a commercial mindset to bring joined-up thinking to our creative approach.

About us:

GWI is the leading publisher and event organiser serving the international water industry. We provide high-level intelligence to our customers in several ways, including our premium online market intelligence platform GWI WaterData, flagship publication GWI Magazine, and highly visual white papers that deliver key insights at a glance.

It is an exciting time to join us: we are reimagining our business and how we serve our customers, and we plan to deliver a series of website projects that will break the fourth wall of journalism and connect us meaningfully with our customers – as well as connect our customers with the people and ideas that will drive growth and opportunities within their businesses.

The Creative Solutions Manager will play a critical role in these plans. At the heart of your role is leading our small in-house design team. You will help the team prioritise their workflow, guide creative direction, and help sign off key decisions. You will also develop creative strategy and work in partnership with our Digital Product Manager, including planning, project management and facilitating collaboration across all teams involved, and think critically about how to build consistent and effective product suites.

Does this sound like you?

Do you have experience of working in a creative field underpinned by data? Do you understand how to design graphics for different audiences, formats and use cases? And can you deliver products that provide an exceptional experience for our customers?

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a creative background who is looking to take the next step in their career, having built up some experience in managing projects and/or people either directly or indirectly. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making an impact and wants to play a strategic role in driving the growth of our business.

The role

You will report to the Operations Director, but the role will require collaboration with many teams. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing Design & Production Team: Overseeing the priorities of our in-house team of four designers and connecting them to the vision of the business.
  • Strategy development: Working closely with team leads to shape the ongoing development of our products in line with business goals.
  • Brand development: Using your creative mindset to help the Sales & Marketing team optimise the branding strategy, using visual language that helps our audience feel connected to who and what matters in the water industry.
  • Identifying opportunities: As part of developing an effective creative strategy, you will identify opportunities and develop roadmaps with team leads. These opportunities should work for the customer, our teams, and the business.
  • Project management: End-to-end ownership of key projects, from development of the vision, establishing project scope and requirements, building a project plan in line with business goals, to implementation and launch.
  • Process development & communication channels: Working with teams across the business to develop and optimise workflows, project management practices and communication channels for the smooth execution of projects.
