A career in Finance, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help PwC in all aspects of our Finance internal function including financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with overall strategy. You’ll focus on recording and analysing financial transactions, paying and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills to detect fraud.

Who we are looking for

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Associate working for Internal Finance, providing decision support and solutions on technical and commercial financial matters to the Central Audit business unit.

Our Central Audit business generates annual revenues of c.£100m and employs over 600 people across 5 offices (Birmingham, East Midlands, Milton Keynes, Bristol and Cardiff). It provides statutory audit, and discreet other audit related work to a range of companies operating in all industries other than Financial Services. Its client base covers a broad range of sectors, from large multinational listed groups, to private, owner managed businesses.

The role is a full time Fixed Term Contract/Secondment for 12 months from October 2022 to provide parental leave cover. The role is ideally based in Birmingham or Bristol, but could also be situated in East Midlands, Milton Keynes or Cardiff.

About the role
As a Finance Associate the individual should have a basic understanding of business, technical, analytical and possess commercial skills and be able to apply their knowledge to provide support to the Finance Manager/Leader and client facing teams. The individual should be enthusiastic to learn, able to prioritise, confident to communicate in both verbal and written forms and be a strong relationship builder.

The Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager/Leader in the following areas:

  • Performance management
  • Performance improvement
  • Financial control and compliance
  • Building relationships and sharing knowledge
  • Providing data input into forecasting and budgeting
