Dean of Medicine
Ref: ATR/ATS149
A competitive salary is available for an outstanding candidate.
For a clinical appointee who is eligible for an honorary NHS appointment with a partner Trust, salary will be on the Consultant Clinical Academic scale (£84,559 to £114,003).
The University is seeking to appoint to the role of Dean of Medicine to the Norwich Medical School (MED) in its Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMH) to provide excellent academic leadership building on existing research and teaching strengths in the School. As the leader of MED and a member of the Faculty Executive Team you will work with key partners across the University, Health Education England, the NHS and across the Norwich Research Park (NRP).
Norwich Medical School is a research-intensive medical school and therefore it is expected that you will have an academic track record of significance with international standing in a health-related subject. For a clinical appointment you will be GMC registered and be operating at senior consultant level or equivalent. Your track record in leadership will demonstrate innovative, decisive and collegiate methods towards maximising opportunities and meeting challenges.
The University appoints academic staff to either Academic, Teaching and Research (ATR) which have a strong research focus, and Academic, Teaching and Scholarship (ATS) posts which have a strong teaching and scholarship focus. Either pathway is possible for this post.
The successful candidate will be appointed to a full-time, indefinite academic post within the School, with the Dean of School role being for an initial period of five years, extendable for a further term with agreement.
Closing date: 29 September 2022.
