Our client is looking for an Education Coordinator to support their South East England activities, initially until December 2023.

Our client is the world’s leading chemistry community, advancing excellence in the chemical sciences and the UK’s professional body for chemical scientists with over 49,000 members worldwide. They provide advice, resources, and practical support to learners and educators in schools, colleges, and universities around the world. In the UK, they are the largest non-governmental funder of chemistry education and they influence government policy to ensure that opportunities to develop skills meet the unique needs of chemistry.

As an Education Coordinator within their Education team, you will support their strategic goals through regional engagement and delivery within the South East of England. You will help to ensure their programmes are tailored and relevant to meet the needs of the different curricula and support their education communities through working with internal and external stakeholders. You will also support the delivery of key education projects on a local basis and engage with their local members to act as advocates for chemistry, showcasing best practice in schools engagement activities.

They are looking for someone with:

• A degree in science, preferably in the chemical sciences, or an equivalent qualification, together with evidence of working with schools, ideally with a teaching qualification.
• An understanding of school level, further and higher education and a breadth of knowledge of the education systems in the UK.
• An understanding of customer requirements, including those of: school teachers; school students; FE teachers, HE academics and support staff; HE students; careers advisors; employers; governments and its agencies, and non-government bodies.
• Good project management, communication, team working and presentation skills (online and in-person) and experience and the ability to work independently.
• Experience of stakeholder relationship management.

As an organisation they are embracing hybrid working, and homeworking/remote working within the UK could be considered for this role. Applicants should be aware that there is an expectation that employees will attend the office and travel within the region as needed for their role. This role will require extensive travel throughout the region; visiting schools, working with members, meeting stakeholders and attending events. This may involve weekends and non-core working hours.

Visit their Work For Us website to learn more about them, their benefits and Equal Opportunities Statement and Inclusive Culture Pledge.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply before the end of the closing date.

You may have experience of the following: Customer Service, Family Worker, Social Worker, Head Teacher, Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Education Coordinator, Education Officer, etc.
