Description
We are working with a secondary school in the West London borough of Westminster who are seeking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to join their support team. The school is a vibrant and successful fully comprehensive school situated in Kilburn rated outstanding' by Ofsted. They are an inclusive high school, supporting all students to be the best they can be including those with special education needs and disabilities. Graduates are encouraged to apply.
The SEND department is a diverse and enthusiastic team of professionals consisting of the SENCo, SEN Admin, Nurture Group Teachers and LSAs. They are seeking Learning Support Assistants/Teaching Assistants to join their team in September. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work within the inclusion department to support learnings across KS3 and KS4 with all subject areas.
The role:
• Understanding the needs of young children with SEN and EAL students.
• Have the ability to establish a good professional relationship and rapport across the SEND department with students and colleagues.
• Support and encourage students in different areas e.g., reading, spelling and numeracy.
• Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis when necessary.
• You will liaise and communicate with the SENCo, class teachers and other professionals.
