At St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester, we are seeking our next Chief Executive to lead our highly-regarded, innovative and values-driven organisation. The Chief Executive will be an effective, strategic and collaborative leader, who is comfortable with uncertainty and leading teams through complex and changing operating environments. Working in partnership with our senior management team and Council of Governors, s/he will plan for the long-term future of the hospice and of palliative care in the region.

St Richard’s Hospice is an independent charity that cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days, and supporting those important to them. We care for people with a range of serious illnesses who have complex needs which cannot be met by other services. These include cancer and neurological, respiratory, cardiac and renal conditions. All our services are available to people registered with a South Worcestershire GP. Our In-patient Unit cares for people across Worcestershire.

Thanks to the efforts of our committed team of 250 staff and over 800 volunteers (including our Council of Governors) we are in a strong position, having responded rapidly and effectively to the pandemic; however our operating environment remains challenging with the ongoing pandemic, the wider economic challenges and changes to the health and social care sector. We also have a host of opportunities in our fantastic relationship with our community and with commissioners, our reputation for excellent clinical care, and state of the art facilities including our new Living Well Centre. Our new Chief Executive will ensure we meet the challenge and opportunities that face us head on, as our history of successful delivery and growth shows we have always done in the past.
