SEN Teaching Assistant - All-through Setting

Your new company
Hays Education are supporting a fantastic SEND primary school in Birmingham who are looking for an SEND teaching assistant to join their team of skilled and dedicated staff. It is a successful school with a rating of "Good" from OFSTED, and boasts a long and proven track record of providing high quality education and support for pupils with special educational needs and their families. The ethos of the Senior Leadership Team is to support their staff in supporting their students to achieve, which creates a great family feel within the school and allows for a happy and inclusive environment for all.

Your new role
You will be working within a class with pupils that have special educational needs or disabilities, and be responsible for supporting the teachers' planning, delivery and assessment of groups of pupils varying in age from 4-19. You will also be working collaboratively with other teachers and teaching assistants within the school, and working closely with relevant outside agencies, along with parents/carers to best support the needs of the child. The role is full time, Monday to Friday and is term time only (TTO). The post is to start as soon as possible.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to possess a L2 or L3 Teaching Assistant qualification or have relevant experience of working with children or young people with SEND. The ideal candidate will be trained in other SEND teaching and learning practices such as Makaton or PECS.
