An outstanding OFSTED rated secondary school in Central London is looking for an imaginative, resilient, empowering and inspiring Geography teacher to joint their highly renowned Humanities department and multi-ethnic school community.
As a member of the Humanities department, you would work alongside a highly motivated team of teachers and leaders who inspire a passion for their subjects - Geography, History, Religious Studies, Citizenship and Business - and who collaborate across departments on exciting whole school initiatives. The department has a constant focus on the quality of teaching and learning, supported by weekly peer-to-peer professional development.
The Humanities department achieves outstanding results, with excellent progress achieved at both KS4 and KS5 - In 2019, 82% of the school's students left for a Russell Group university, including Oxbridge, Imperial and LSE. Students excel in Geography by being taught challenging, thought provocative and engaging content from Year 7 onwards. They are encouraged to develop critical thinking and communication skills as they evaluate the human and physical aspects that make up our world.
The ideal candidate for this post will be:
- Enthusiastic, imaginative, driven, and an excellent classroom practitioner who is committed to student success and development
- Experienced in planning and delivering KS3-KS5 Geography
- To ensure that all pupils have access to well designed, stimulating resources, always undertake challenging activities and work in an interesting and cared for environmentExperienced in teaching the relevant subject(s) with a relevant university degree (desirable)
- Able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to their own professional growth and development
- Able to reinforce and uphold the vision, values, mission ethos and strategic aims of the
- school and adhere to the agreed policies and practices of the school
