Responsible directly to the Director of Finance and Operations, the Finance Manager is a key member of the Senior Leadership team. This opportunity will support the organisation and efficient delivery of the finance function of the Trust.

Job Description

This role of Finance Manager includes leading the transaction processing team, working with key stakeholders to provide high quality advice and support on financial management and compliance to Trustees, Senior Leadership Team and budget holders within the primary and secondary schools that are part of the MAT.

Duties will be as follows:

  • To support the Director of Finance and Operations in providing accurate and timely financial information and reporting for the schools within the Trust
  • Preparing relevant statutory compliance documentation and submissions for their schools in line with the requirements of regulatory bodies and agencies
  • Day to day management of the Trust's finance systems and associated processes, with oversight from the Director of Finance and Operations, including undertaking monthly reconciliations
  • Working in collaboratively with schools on financial monitoring, including production of accurate and timely budgets and management accounts for each school and for the Trust
  • Overseeing the accounts payable function, treasury management and payroll functions for the Trust
  • Provision of financial information and advice to the Headteacher at each of the Trust's schools
  • Leading on procurement advice and systems for the Trust
  • Complete monthly ledger reconciliations
  • Continuous development of financial systems, financial reporting, controls and procedures for the Trust
  • Management and supporting the development of finance team members
  • Providing training and coaching to non-finance staff on an ad hoc basis
  • Support costing of services and optimisation of resources using integrated curriculum and financial planning modelling
